our private environments should nurture and sustain

My goal is to create a modern design framework that helps clients adapt to life's changes by focusing on simple, functional, beautiful interiors.

Architectural elements, furnishings and accessories can create a supportive and intimate atmosphere, celebrate simplicity and tame our desire to "perfect" our environment at a cost to our budgets and expectations.

I believe we should design spaces that reflect the needs and character of those who occupy them.

a fully lived life

Beauty can come from a celebration of the everyday.

I favor using authentic materials whenever necessary and possible:  various wood species with grain and character; resilient concrete, resin, ceramic and porcelain; natural stone such as marble, limestone,  slate and soapstone; metals such as steel, aluminum and zinc; clear, textured and tinted glass; and organic textiles such as linen, cotton and wool.

These durable design elements wear beautifully, showing their origin and the character of the people who use them.

the rhythm of daily life

Subtle details can communicate care and purpose.

Features can be modest but still rich in meaning.

Simplicity and restraint can embody warmth and relaxation.
